That puts it in a very short list: it&#8217;s now the fourth U.S. chip company to reach that level, after Nvidia, Broadcom, and Micron.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stock move makes the excitement pretty easy to understand. AMD shares gained <strong>10% on Monday<\/strong>, 25% over the past five sessions, and 180% this year, based on market trading. The run has been backed by real numbers too. AMD posted Q2 2026 revenue of $11.54 billion, up 50% from a year earlier, and Data Center revenue came in at $6.7 billion, up 107%, according to AMD&#8217;s quarterly results.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of the breakout story leads back to data centers. Lisa Su, AMD&#8217;s chief executive, has said that business could <strong>double again by 2027<\/strong>, and AMD is building around that push with Helios rackscale systems, 6th Gen EPYC Venice processors, and ROCm 10. AMD is positioning ROCm 10 as a more open alternative to Nvidia&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/cuda-dvd-ripper.en.softonic.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">CUDA<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you follow semiconductor stocks, this deserves a close look. Still, AMD remains worth less than <strong>one-fifth of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/nvidia-has-just-surpassed-google-and-amazon-for-the-first-time-in-its-history\" rel=\"noopener\">Nvidia&#8217;s $5.4 trillion<\/a><\/strong>, based on current market values. Wall Street is mostly positive, with many analysts rating AMD Buy or Strong Buy, according to analyst consensus. The risks are the usual ones, and they haven&#8217;t gone away: high expectations, cooling demand, tougher competition, and shifts in the cycle.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaming also bears watching. AMD&#8217;s Q2 gaming revenue fell <strong>31%<\/strong>, according to AMD&#8217;s quarterly results. Late-2026 price increases in consumer GPUs and motherboard chipsets are another thing to watch as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) manufacturing costs rise.
