Warner Bros. put out an official Gremlins teaser today on its own online channels, and that was enough to get Gremlins 3 talk going again. Fans have been using that name for years. What the teaser really confirms is much simpler: the studio knows people still care about Gizmo, and it wants to keep the Gremlins franchise in front of a newer audience.

What fans actually want most still isn’t here. The teaser comes with no release date, no production start, no cast list, no director, and no release window, which isn’t how a movie looks when it’s anywhere near release.

Studios use teasers like this all the time to see how people respond to older properties, especially when those properties still have value beyond a movie through merch and crossovers.

A third Gremlins film has been floating around for years, with earlier talk about scripts and story ideas, but Warner Bros. still hasn’t said the project has entered active production.

And that kind of stall isn’t unusual. Rights issues, creative disagreements, budgets, shifting studio priorities, and the push and pull between practical creature effects and modern CGI can keep a project stuck for a long time.

If you’re into horror, games, or older franchises, this teaser is still worth a look. Gremlins hasn’t disappeared. The series still has a presence through streaming, collectibles, and possible tie-ins such as games, cosmetics, licensing, and digital events.

You can watch the teaser now on Warner Bros.’ official online channels.

Warner Bros. put out an official Gremlins teaser today on its own online channels, and that was enough to get Gremlins 3 talk going again.
