After the Monument of Triumph update in June 2026, Destiny 2 was pretty clearly shifted into maintenance mode, with major bug fixes as the main priority. So this reads less like a relaunch and more like Bungie trying to preserve parts of the game that had been lost.

If Destiny 2’s missing history has bothered you, this will probably be worth downloading. Even with these campaign returns, there could still be story gaps rather than a full one-to-one restoration.

Destiny 2 is already available on its current platforms, but Bungie still hasn’t given a release date for the restored content.
