If 3 Days to Kill<\/strong> has been sitting in your queue for a while, that listed exit date is a good reason to bring it back into view. It\u2019s one of those overlooked action movies from Hollywood\u2019s post-Taken run of slick, mid-budget star vehicles. That said, streaming dates can still move around when licensing deals change.<\/p>\n\n

Co-written and produced by Luc Besson<\/strong>, 3 Days to Kill centers on Ethan Renner, a terminally ill CIA agent who\u2019s promised an experimental drug if he agrees to finish one last mission. The movie folds hard-edged spy-thriller action into Ethan\u2019s effort to rebuild a relationship with his estranged daughter.<\/p>\n\n

It opened in February 2014<\/strong> and made about $53.2 million worldwide against a reported $28 million budget. Critics weren\u2019t kind to it. The film has a 27% score on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, with much of the pushback aimed at its uneven mix of violence, dark humor, and family-comedy beats. Audiences were a bit warmer, though, and the movie has hung around in a modest afterlife as one of those half-forgotten Kevin Costner vehicles, especially now that Costner\u2019s career is moving from Yellowstone toward Horizon: An American Saga.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re in the mood for a direct, no-frills<\/strong> early-2010s studio action thriller, 3 Days to Kill is worth catching on Starz before it\u2019s gone.<\/p>\n
