Fans have been talking up Disney\u2019s Aladdin series lately as the best thing the franchise did after the original movie. It\u2019s also drawing fresh attention to a continuation that, for a lot of people, works better than either of the two direct-to-video sequels.<\/p>\n

The show aired from 1994 to 1995 and lands right in the middle of the timeline, picking up from The Return of Jafar and leading into Aladdin and the King of Thieves, which basically serves as its finale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Across 86 episodes and three seasons, it had a lot more room than the movies ever did to spend time in Agrabah, branch out to new kingdoms, throw in magical threats, and build up a cast of allies and recurring enemies<\/strong>. It also digs further into Aladdin\u2019s shift from street rat to future prince, gives Jasmine more agency, and ends up with a stronger rogues\u2019 gallery, led by fan favorite Mozenrath.<\/p>\n\n

If you revisit Aladdin often, this one\u2019s worth picking up; I\u2019d say the smaller, adventure-driven format<\/strong> has held up better than the sequel films, even with some repetitive episodes, clearly cheaper animation, and Dan Castellaneta taking over from Robin Williams as Genie.<\/p>\n\n
