Fortnite<\/a> got its October 1, 2026<\/strong> update with v42.30, the Fortnitemares 2026 release, and it brings one of the biggest Halloween lineups the game has had in a while.<\/p>\n

Freddy Krueger, Slender Man, Beetlejuice, The Purge\u2019s Lady Liberty, and Obsession are all part of it. Everything sits under the \u201cThe Game Is Cursed\u201d<\/strong> banner, which ties directly into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. This doesn\u2019t read like a small holiday add-on. It feels tied into the season itself.<\/p>\n\n

The headline addition appears to be Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>. Teases point to Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy skins, along with possible Withered variants, a Bonnie\u2019s Room experience, a Freddy Fazbear\u2019s Pizzeria mode, and even a jam track built around The Living Tombstone\u2019s FNAF song.<\/p>\n\n

There\u2019s more in the patch besides the crossover skins. Fortnitemares 2026 also appears to include new Halloween Sprites, with jack-o\u2019-lantern<\/strong> and vampire companions, the return of the Pumpkin Launcher and Witch Broom, possible map changes and limited-time modes, plus free unlocks that reportedly include at least one skin earned through quests, even though Epic Games still hasn\u2019t laid out the full rollout.<\/p>\n\n
