For collectors, that means a boxed copy of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/a-definitive-version-of-a-classic-the-lord-of-the-rings-game-gets-a-surprise-release\" rel=\"noopener\">Aspyr\u2019s August 2026 Legacy Edition<\/a>, giving the game a shelf presence again after years away from storefronts.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pre-orders go live that day. The <strong>$49.99<\/strong> standard edition includes the game on cartridge, a slipcover, and a Wayfinder\u2019s Ledger Booklet. The $79.99 Deluxe Edition adds a slipcase, steelcase, cloth map, and a weathered letter featuring a foreword by Jed Brophy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">War in the North first came out in <strong>2011<\/strong>. Snowblind Studios made it as a three-player co-op action RPG that runs alongside the events of The Lord of the Rings. Reviews were mixed at the time, but the game still built a cult following. It was delisted around 2019, then Aspyr brought it back digitally for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aspyr says the Legacy Edition adds <strong>60 FPS<\/strong>, UI and UX improvements, autosaves, extra save slots, gyro support on Nintendo platforms, 64-bit architecture, 4K on compatible hardware, and Epic Online Services multiplayer.
