Apple is preparing one of the most important changes we’ve seen in the MacBook Pro. If the rumor mill is to be believed, the company is working on a model with an OLED display that will also be much lighter than current models. A truly significant refresh of the MacBook Pro<\/strong>, designed to deliver the lineup’s usual power with portability very close to the MacBook Air<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Much lighter thanks to a redesigned interior<\/h2>\n\n

According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, Apple has redesigned a large part of the inside of the machine, miniaturizing many of the parts and reorganizing the different components to make them easier to shrink. The change does, in fact, fit with the transition to OLED displays, a technology we’ve already talked about for its advantages in terms of contrast, and thickness.<\/p>\n

The redesign would come with a touchscreen, a new Dynamic Island, and the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. With these specifications, the new machines would sit at the very top of the lineup.<\/p>\n\n

A launch expected in October or November<\/h2>\n\n

Gurman expects these new MacBooks to arrive between October and November, while Apple is already testing the machines with macOS 27.2 installed internally. The timeline fits with what we can infer from the references to several new MacBook Pros that recently appeared in macOS Golden Gate. Although for now we’re talking about rumors, everything seems ready to bring a major size change to Apple’s highest-end laptop<\/strong>: soon we’ll have one that’s much easier to carry and, given its capabilities, the most interesting MacBook Pro in years.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
