Capcom says Monster Hunter Rise<\/a> has now passed 20 million units sold<\/strong> worldwide across Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. By this point, it’s clearly one of the publisher’s biggest successes.<\/p>\n

Anyone who’s followed Monster Hunter Rise since its Nintendo Switch debut in March 2021 has watched it keep selling for far longer than a typical launch spike. It moved more than 1.3 million<\/strong> copies in its first week in Japan, helped by the appeal of portable play, the series’ strong name recognition there, and a setting with clear Japanese influences. The PC version followed in January 2022. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S arrived in January 2023.<\/p>\n\n

Sunbreak<\/a> gave it another boost. The expansion launched in June 2022, and by June 2023 Capcom had 13 million<\/strong> Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak<\/a> at 6 million. Then in May 2024, Capcom said the Monster Hunter series had passed 100 million sales overall.<\/p>\n\n

Even next to Monster Hunter World’s<\/a> 22.4 million and Monster Hunter Wilds<\/a>‘ 11 million after its 2025 launch, Rise still stands out. If you still haven’t picked up Monster Hunter Rise, it’s easy to recommend, especially when you remember it started as a Switch-first release and reached the other platforms in stages.<\/p>\n\n

You can get Monster Hunter Rise now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S. Capcom is marking the milestone with commemorative artwork, a thank-you message, digital sales promotions, Monster Hunter Wilds<\/a> on Switch 2 in December<\/strong>, and the Ascendance<\/a> expansion in 2027.<\/p>\n
