In fact, he doesn&#8217;t see himself returning to the saga anytime soon because Barrera, who played his daughter, Sam Carpenter, has been erased from continuity: <strong><em>\u201cWithout her and Sam Loomis, there is no Billy Loomis\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. So yeah, a genocide has ended up causing the end of an entire storyline.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIt was in his head. <strong>They had their chance and didn&#8217;t complete the three-film arc they told me about<\/strong>\u201c<\/em>. And it&#8217;s a shame, because, as a Scream fan, I can say that it looked incredibly interesting and was going to culminate in an explosive and unexpected way. Maybe in the future he&#8217;ll make an unexpected appearance again? You never know in this saga. As long as they act like Scream 7 never happened, everything should be fine.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other killer from the first film, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/matthew-lillard-absolutely-mortified-after-appearing-in-scream-7-not-because-the-movie-is-terrible-mind-you\" rel=\"noopener\">Matthew Lillard<\/a>, has already stated that <strong>he is openly ashamed to appear in this seventh installment, and rightly so<\/strong>: Barrera&#8217;s firing is one of the lowest points in recent Hollywood history, after all.
