Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was announced in April 2025<\/strong>, with a 2027 release lined up for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X\/S. The reveal also made one thing clear right away: this time, the spotlight isn’t on Goku. It’s on a new protagonist, J-Age. And Bandai Namco didn’t stop at a teaser, either. The game has already had a 7-minute gameplay presentation.<\/p>\n

This one is set in a futuristic West City during AGE 1000, with the story centered on the white-haired Saiyan J-Age<\/strong> and the Great Saiyan Squad. Players will still be able to create their own custom fighter, so Xenoverse isn’t dropping that personal angle. It just sounds like the story is leaning harder into an original setup, which still fits the series’ usual blend of self-insert characters and alternate-history Dragon Ball storylines.<\/p>\n\n

The 7-minute gameplay showing introduced a couple of new systems. Soul Assist<\/strong> lets players call in characters such as Vegeta and Future Trunks. Soul Switch goes further, letting players transform into those characters and use their abilities directly. Reports have also pointed to broader customization options, including a playable Android race.<\/p>\n\n

If you’ve been wanting Xenoverse 3 to do more than run back through the same old Dragon Ball Z arcs, while still keeping the fan-service pull of the classic heroes, this sequel looks like one to keep an eye on, maybe even grab at launch<\/a><\/strong>. That feels even more true now that support for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2<\/a> is winding down, and there are also reports tying Akira Toriyama to the world-building and character design.<\/p>\n\n
