World of Warcraft<\/a>: Forever is now in beta, and at PAX Australia Blizzard made it clear that players should think of it as a long-term World of Warcraft pillar<\/strong>, not a static nostalgia museum.<\/p>\n\n

The studio says players should expect horizontal growth<\/strong>, not ever-higher level caps and bigger gear numbers. The launch-era feel of classic World of Warcraft is meant to stay intact, while Blizzard adds new zones, dungeons, raids, Camping, a Legacy System for alt play, and other quality-of-life updates to classic World of Warcraft.<\/p>\n

Blizzard says this is already the biggest beta<\/strong> in its history. Team members described the player turnout as the \u201ccraziest\u201d they\u2019ve seen in 17 years, and the strain on servers has reportedly forced repeated increases to population caps.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re after classic World of Warcraft with some new ideas mixed in, not just a pure recreation, World of Warcraft: Forever looks like something to keep an eye on. Blizzard is also setting expectations early: you shouldn\u2019t expect every community request<\/strong> to make it in, and the company says its decisions should be judged by broad feedback trends, analytics, and internal research, not just the loudest voices.<\/p>\n\n

Blizzard also says the success of World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore<\/a> in 2023 helped open the door to bigger experiments<\/strong>. Right now, the debates are focused on the Skyborne race, druid forms, layering, leveling and dungeon XP tuning, anti-RMT action, and complaints from Italian-speaking players who still don\u2019t have an Italian-language client.<\/p>\n\n
