At the center of the documentary are roughly five hours of secret audio recordings Diana made in 1991 with her friend Dr James Colthurst. Love Monday TV says viewers will hear the full tapes for the first time. Those conversations later became the basis for Andrew Morton’s 1992 book Diana: Her True Story, the book that badly hurt the Royal Family’s image.

The recordings cover a lot of ground: Diana’s childhood, her marriage to then-Prince Charles, his relationship with Camilla, her comments about Prince Andrew, and her hopes for Princes William and Harry. Love Monday TV says the series doesn’t present Diana only as a tragic victim. It also shows her as someone actively shaping her own story, with interviews from Dr James Colthurst and Andrew Morton there to support that.

If you keep up with royal documentaries, this one looks like it’ll be worth your time. Prime Video’s deal is part of a broader rollout from Cineflix Rights, which also includes an undisclosed US network, first-window rights in Australia, and a release timed to the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death in 2027.

You can watch Diana: Her Secret Confessions on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.
