Star Wars: Galactic Racer<\/a> hit PC and PS5 on 6 October 2026<\/strong>, and Fuse Games has now shared an odd detail from development: the roguelite progression systems began as a physical board-game prototype.<\/p>\n

Creative director Kieran Crimmins said the team wanted to \u201cfeel the system\u201d and \u201cvalidate the emotional response<\/strong> as quickly as possible.\u201d Fuse Games CEO Matt Webster added that the tabletop version let them test things much faster, especially rewards, point tuning, randomized stats, parts, status effects, credits, shopping phases, and the long-term upgrades that carry between runs, rather than the on-track driving feel itself.<\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s a pretty unexpected route for a crash-heavy arcade racer. Still, it now sits underneath a run-based campaign and a multiplayer tour mode that have already pulled in strong early reactions, even if there still isn\u2019t much public detail on how those ideas made the jump into speed, collisions, and physics.<\/p>\n\n

If arcade racers with roguelite progression are your thing, Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks like an easy recommendation.<\/p>\n\n

You can download Star Wars: Galactic Racer now on PC and PS5. It launched on 6 October 2026<\/strong>, picked up a Very Positive rating on Steam<\/a>, climbed the sales charts in its first week, and, based on early estimates, sold more than 100,000 copies while bringing in roughly $4.4 million in revenue.<\/p>\n
