When the device is fully closed at 0 degrees, you’d use a 5.4-inch outer screen for messages, calls, navigation, and notifications. Open it all the way to 180 degrees, and a 7.6-inch inner display takes over, with a layout that’s supposed to feel closer to a small iPad for reading, browsing, editing, and watching video.

Those reports say Apple is working on “Hinge State” detection that would shift the iPhone Duo between several setups: a closed phone mode, a tablet mode, a book layout, a laptop-style flex position, a stand mode for video or FaceTime without needing an extra accessory, and a side-by-side multitasking view. In flex mode, the lower half could become a keyboard, a control panel, or a playback area. Apple’s split-screen software, though, is still a bit of a question mark.

If you like the idea of an iPhone that changes shape and role over the course of the day, this one’s worth keeping an eye on.

Current reports point to a 2026 launch, with pre-orders on October 16, a release on October 23, and a starting price of $1,999. They also mention an A20 Pro chip, performance said to land near the iPhone 18 Pro, and an unfolded design that could be the thinnest Apple has made in this category. On top of that, Apple patents describe self-healing displays, linked hinges built to reduce stress, ceramic layers, and even display heating meant to deal with wrinkles and stiffness.

        Netflix
        Download

        <text class="rating-score__number" content="" text-anchor="middle" transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 25 31.0837)" data-auto="app-user-score"></text>

Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone Duo is back in the rumor cycle, and the latest reports add a few more specifics: hinge-angle detection, six interface modes, and a claimed 2026 launch window.
