In the new trailer, Link’s shadowy rival moves with crisper animation, loaded-up pauses, and one especially showy moment where he leaps onto Link’s sword. Fans are already calling the scene pure “aura-farming,” and it’s easy to see why. The fight looks much more theatrical, and a lot more threatening, than it ever did on Nintendo 64.

The trailer also gives updated looks at Morpha, the Ferry to the Other World, and Ganondorf, all backed by a fuller orchestral score. And the footage points to something bigger than a simple visual upgrade: redesigned puzzles, expanded environments, modernized controls, and a camera that moves more freely. That comes through most clearly in the Japanese trailer, which leans harder into the action.

If you needed a sign that this remake is going for a broader reinterpretation, this trailer makes the case. The puppet-show aesthetic is still splitting viewers, though. Some love the atmosphere. Others can’t get past a few uncanny-looking character models.

The trailer is up now, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches on November 5, 2026 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, according to Nintendo.
