By October 13<\/strong>, Grand Theft Auto 6 had reached an estimated 6.08 million digital preorders worldwide, according to Sensor Tower. After refunds, that comes out to about $594 million in revenue. The split leans hard toward PlayStation, with 4.51 million preorders and roughly $441 million, compared with 1.57 million on Xbox and $153 million. Sensor Tower also says the game is tracking 148% ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II<\/a> in the US digital market.<\/p>\n

Sensor Tower says even the $100 premium edition<\/strong> is already outperforming the full preorder totals of several major releases.<\/p>\n\n

If you’re planning to buy Grand Theft Auto 6 at launch, these estimates are worth keeping an eye on. Analysts are forecasting around 37 million<\/strong> to 51 million first-week sales, Piper Sandler has the number at more than 48 million, and some broader analyst projections now point to over $3 billion in the first four months.<\/p>\n\n

Still, take those figures carefully. They’re third-party estimates based only on digital sales, US comparisons leave out Europe and Asia<\/strong>, and Rockstar Games still hasn’t announced a PC date.<\/p>\n\n

You can’t download Grand Theft Auto 6 yet, but Rockstar Games did release the launch trailer on October 15, 2026<\/strong>, showing Jason, Lucia, and Vice City. Reports also say the art team has grown to 65 people, up from about five or six during Grand Theft Auto V<\/a>.<\/p>\n
