Tesla pushed its mobile app to version 4.62.0<\/strong> on October 21, 2026, and the headline change is native support for iPad , Apple\u2019s iPhone Duo, and Android tablets and foldables.<\/p>\n

On larger screens, the app now uses a tablet-friendly two-column layout<\/strong>. Navigation and controls sit on the left, while a bigger live view of your Tesla vehicle or Tesla home energy system takes up the right side. That makes climate settings , charging, security, and Tesla Energy power flow easier to read and manage, including the movement of power between solar, Powerwall, your home, the grid, and sometimes your vehicle.<\/p>\n\n

The timing is interesting too. Tesla designer Alex Guichet announced the update on October 21, 2026<\/strong>, two days before the October 23 iPhone Duo launch. Under Apple\u2019s iOS 27.1 SDK requirements, apps that aren\u2019t optimized for the inner display can end up showing black borders instead of adapting properly.<\/p>\n\n

If you use the Tesla app a lot, this is the kind of update you\u2019ll notice right away. It makes the whole thing feel less like a blown-up phone app and more like a real dashboard, and it puts Tesla near the front of the pack among major automakers shipping a native experience for larger screens. You still might have to wait one to two weeks<\/strong> if the rollout reaches devices in phases, and Tesla already says more refinements are on the way.<\/p>\n\n
