Rockstar Games has kicked off Red Dead Online<\/a>\u2019s 2026 Halloween event<\/strong>, and it\u2019s live now. The seasonal run lasts from October 6 through November 2 and brings back Dead of Night<\/a> along with a batch of other Halloween modes, according to Rockstar Games. Dead of Night blends PvP with PvE: four teams fight each other while dealing with zombies at the same time, and the Night Stalker mask can give players an advantage. Fear of the Dark, Strange Tales of the West, and All Hallows\u2019 Call to Arms have returned too. Still, this is another recycle of past Halloween content, not a big new expansion.<\/p>\n

The rewards are the real draw here, and by Red Dead Online standards they\u2019re unusually good, according to Rockstar Games. Strange Tales of the West is paying out 4x RDO$, Gold, and XP<\/strong>. All Hallows\u2019 Call to Arms has 3x rewards. Halloween Pass 2 is back as well with 15 ranks, and if you already made progress before, that carries over. Players who clear all 10 Call to Arms maps by November 2 will get the orange Benbow Jacket. A few older items have also returned, including the Pelt Half Chaps and the Prieto Poncho, alongside a black community outfit and the free Red Fernwater Coat.<\/p>\n\n

If you missed these Halloween modes the first time around, or just want to level up faster, there\u2019s a lot to like in this update. Longtime players will probably be more divided. The bonuses are strong, but the content itself is reused, no new story mission<\/strong>, no new mode, no return of older passes, and it all adds to the feeling that the game is being kept on life support while Rockstar Games puts its attention on Grand Theft Auto VI<\/a>. At this point, anything resembling an Undead Nightmare-style follow-up feels like a long shot.<\/p>\n\n
