Ubisoft is adding a New Game Plus update to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on PS5 next week, giving players a new reason to sail back through Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. So far, Ubisoft has only confirmed that the mode is coming, not how it’ll work. The exact rules are still unknown. Players are expecting some kind of carryover for abilities, weapons, equipment, and maybe ship upgrades too, while tougher enemies and extra rewards are still unconfirmed until the full patch notes show up.

If you were hoping for a real campaign replay option after Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched in July 2026, this update looks like one to grab. The lack of carryover was one of the few complaints that kept popping up in a release that was otherwise received pretty well.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is Ubisoft’s full remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, rebuilt in the latest Anvil engine. It brings a visual overhaul, expanded story content, recruitable officers, and extra side activities. But players still don’t get the original multiplayer or the modern-day sections.

Reports say Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced sold more than 3.5 million copies in two weeks. Reviews have also been broadly positive, and one PS5 review scored it an 8/10 for being bigger, better, and flashier while still holding on to the original’s identity. With that kind of response, Ubisoft continuing post-launch support isn’t much of a surprise. You’ll be able to download the PS5 patch next week.
