New OLED display and a lighter design

Its display grows from 8.3 to 8.5 inches and switches to OLED technology, allowing it to reach 600 nits of brightness in SDR and 1200 in HDR. It keeps the 60 Hz refresh rate and adds the option of a nano-textured display on the 256 and 512 GB storage models.

At 5.4 mm thick and 255 grams in the Wi‑Fi version, it’s even more comfortable to take anywhere. The Acoustic Display system, which uses the screen to emit sound, and the hidden speakers allow it to achieve IP67 water and dust resistance. The first iPad to achieve these capabilities.

A much more powerful chip and improvements in connectivity

The 2 nm A20 Pro chip boosts CPU power by up to 60%, multiplies graphics power by 2.7, and AI-related power by 4.5. A particularly useful upgrade for getting the most out of Apple Intelligence and its tools. The 512GB version, moreover, comes with a double Neural Engine.

the new iPad mini also comes with Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, the N1 chip for connectivity, and the C2 modem for mobile data. Add to that the 12 MP horizontal front camera, the new adaptive True Tone flash, and the fact that we can charge the device to up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Availability and price

With Touch ID, USB‑C, support for external displays through iPadOS 27.2, and the usual battery life, the new iPad mini arrives especially well prepared to accompany us in our day-to-day. Available in midnight and starlight, we’ll be able to pre-order it on October 28, starting at $699 or €749, and receive it from November 6 onward.
