Reddit<\/a> is reworking the home feed in its app with two new tabs<\/strong>, \u201cFor You\u201d and \u201cFollowing.\u201d The company says the redesign will roll out globally over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

In Reddit\u2019s own description, \u201cFor You\u201d blends posts from communities you already follow with recommendations based on your interests<\/strong>, browsing habits, and activity, with the goal of surfacing new conversations. \u201cFollowing\u201d is the cleaner option: it shows only posts from subreddits you\u2019ve joined, which keeps things closer to the traditional Reddit experience. You can switch between the two whenever you want, and the app will reopen to whichever feed you used last.<\/p>\n\n

That puts Reddit a bit closer to TikTok<\/a>, Instagram<\/a>, X, Threads, and Facebook, all of which lean heavily on recommendations<\/strong>. Reddit says the point here is to help people find new communities, ideas, and perspectives, especially newer users, while continuing its broader push toward more relevant, higher-quality personalization.<\/p>\n\n

If you use Reddit all the time, this is one to watch. Some users in testing said they want \u201cFollowing\u201d<\/strong> not \u201cFor You,\u201d as the default, and they\u2019re worried recommendations could start taking over the communities they chose on purpose.<\/p>\n\n

Reddit still hasn\u2019t shared much public data showing that discovery or engagement is actually better, so most people will probably judge the change the simple way: do the recommendations help<\/strong>, or do they just get in the way?<\/p>\n\n
