Google is widening the ad rollout in its conversational Search experience, adding sponsored placements<\/a><\/strong> next to its generated answers in 10 more countries. The new markets are Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Singapore. Brazil, Mexico, and the UK are slated to follow later in Q4 2026, Google says.<\/p>\n

Those results will be clearly labeled \u201cSponsored<\/strong>.\u201d In the US, Google is also expanding where these ads can appear, so sponsored results may now show up not only on the first prompt, but in follow-up questions as well.<\/p>\n\n

The timing isn\u2019t random. Google says searches in this mode are about three times longer<\/strong> than standard searches, which gives it more context to work with. The expansion also lands alongside Alphabet\u2019s Q3 earnings and a period of slower growth in Google\u2019s core search ad business, as the company tries to narrow the revenue gap between this newer format and classic search.<\/p>\n\n

If you use this assistant-style version of Google Search<\/a> regularly, this is one to watch<\/strong>. Advertisers get stronger intent signals, while the experience for users feels less neutral as these summaries keep spreading. They already appear in roughly 48% to 55% of US searches, and some October 2026 estimates put the figure at 80% overall and 82.5% for US brand searches.<\/p>\n\n

All of this is happening inside Google Search, where Google says these summary features already reach more than 200 countries<\/strong> and 40 languages. Publishers, meanwhile, are tracking traffic drops of 20% to 40%, click rates of 8% versus 15% when summaries appear, and research on whether people actually like the ads is still mixed.<\/p>\n
