Sony Pictures has put its Resident Evil reboot up for digital purchase and rental on Prime Video and other storefronts today, November 3 , a little more than 45 days after the movie first hit theaters.

It’s $24.99 to rent or buy Resident Evil right now. DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K editions are already up for preorder too, though Sony Pictures still hasn’t said when those physical versions will actually ship. If you’re holding out for subscription streaming, the studio’s Netflix Pay-1 deal points to an early 2027 arrival.

The home release lands after what looks like the biggest box office run this franchise has had. Resident Evil has made $157.4 million domestically, $242.6 million overseas, and about $400 million worldwide against a $75 million budget, after opening to $60 million. Around the same time, reports say Resident Evil 2 Remake sales on PlayStation 5 and daily player counts across five games have climbed by roughly 50% .

If you passed on it in theaters and have been waiting to see whether the reboot lived up to the buzz, critics and fans ended up landing in the same place. Early on, there was some skepticism about Zach Cregger trying to capture the feeling of playing Resident Evil instead of adapting one specific game directly or building the whole thing around Leon Kennedy. That concern didn’t stick. Resident Evil is sitting at 96% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers singling out the tension, the humor, and Austin Abrams’ performance.

So yes, you can watch Resident Evil now on Prime Video and the other usual platforms. Sony Pictures hasn’t announced a sequel yet, but at this point it’s easy to see the question turning into when, not if.
