Dimension cards, according to Wizards, are an actual gameplay addition, not just a cosmetic variant. Marvel: Darkhold Destiny also introduces a Vengeance mechanic that lets you cast some spells from the graveyard, brings back the Arcane subtype, and stretches across nearly 30 dimensions. The full rules still haven’t been revealed, so the reaction will probably be a mix of curiosity and caution, especially around how Dimension cards might play across different formats.

Wizards also confirmed that Universes Beyond Star Trek launches on November 13 with Magic’s first actor-signed cards. These special headliners are signed by the actors who played Kirk, Spock, Picard, Janeway, Seven of Nine, Geordi, and Data, with roughly 250 copies of each.

Those signed Star Trek cards will show up only in Collector Boosters, not Play Boosters, and they won’t be serialized. That leaves scarcity, authenticity, and even how the cards were handled during signing as factors that could make high-grade copies especially valuable.

If you play or collect Magic: The Gathering on a regular basis, this is something to keep an eye on, especially since Wizards also laid out six sets for 2027, down from seven in 2026. The lineup includes an underwater plane, a Kamigawa-versus-Ikoria mechs-and-monsters set, and a return to Zhalfir.
