But no matter how much you love your better half, finding the perfect Valentine&#8217;s gift can be quite expensive. For those of you with very tight budgets, here&#8217;s a cheap way to obtain a truly original present: create your very own Valentine&#8217;s card with Photoshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-08.jpg\" id=\"image4342\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>1.<\/strong> Open a blank document in Photoshop and fill it with a nice dark blue color. Make it as big as you want your card to be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-01.jpg\" id=\"image4349\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Grab the Custom Shape Tool (U) and select the heart shape. Draw a big nice heart in a somewhat dark shade of red.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-02.jpg\" id=\"image4348\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Now apply a <em>Drop Shadow<\/em> effect in white and an <em>Inner Shadow<\/em> in a lighter red, following the values you can see in these screenshots:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-03.jpg\" id=\"image4347\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-04.jpg\" id=\"image4350\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>4.<\/strong> You should get something like this. Press Ctrl+T and rotate the heart a bit. When you&#8217;re done press Enter to apply the rotation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-05.jpg\" id=\"image4345\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Now click on the heart and rasterize it. Select the layer by Ctrl+clicking on it and go to <em>Edit &gt; Define Brush Preset<\/em> to create a new brush based on your heart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-06.jpg\" id=\"image4344\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> Create a new layer and before using your now heart brush, make sure you open the Brush Options window (F5), click on <em>Shape Dynamics<\/em> and set <em>Angle Jitter<\/em> to 50%. Now you can start painting some more hearts on the new layer. When you&#8217;re happy with the result turn this layer&#8217;s opacity down to 20%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-09.jpg\" id=\"image4352\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Duplicate the heart layer and make it a bit smaller, then apply a slight rotation too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-10.jpg\" id=\"image4353\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8.<\/strong> Create a text layer and write your message with a nice font. Then duplicate this text layer, make it as big as the card itself and set its opacity to 20%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/02\/valentine-card-07.jpg\" id=\"image4343\" alt=\"Create a Valentine's card with Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong> Finally, go to <em>Image &gt; Adjustments &gt; Hue\/Saturation<\/em> and add some red saturation to the two heart layers in order to make them brighter.
