It changes all your groups names to Priyanka, and may also change your contact names to Priyanka. The virus is spread manually &#8211; you have to accept it to get infected, and it&#8217;s pretty easy to remove.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44710\" title=\"Priyanka\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/07\/Priyanka-contact.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"548\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/07\/Priyanka-contact.png 548w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/07\/Priyanka-contact-256x91.png 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How you get infected<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you <strong>receive<\/strong> a contact file from a friend, named &#8216;Priyanka&#8217; and install it, your WhatsApp will be infected. If you receive the contact file but don&#8217;t accept it, nothing will happen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to remove the Priyanka virus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To get rid of Priyanka, search your contacts for Priyanka and delete any you find.<br \/>\nGo to Settings, apps, manage apps and find WhatsApp.<br \/>\nTap &#8216;Force Stop&#8217; and then &#8216;Clear Data&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Now, the next time you open WhatsApp you will have to go through the setup process again, but you will be free of the virus. You shouldn&#8217;t lose conversations, except perhaps very recent ones.<\/p>\n<p>Priyanka is a very simple virus, as it requires users to actively accept it.
