This was a popular feature, and many users were angry about its removal. Well, Google has listened, and added a &#8216;<strong>Make this map area available offline<\/strong>&#8216; button to the app.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not exactly the offline mode that many people want. You can&#8217;t store multiple locations or large areas, but that may return in a later update. Google has clearly pushed out this small update as quickly as it could.<\/p>\n<p>The quick update also adds a &#8220;Where&#8217;s Latitude?&#8217; link on the side menu, which explains &#8216;the future of location sharing&#8217;, as Latitude was closed on July 9th.
