This is a huge security risk for those who lost their Yahoo! IDs due to inactivity. It seems <a title=\"Yahoo! addresses privacy concerns about freeing up old user IDs\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/yahoo-addresses-privacy-concerns-about-freeing-up-old-user-ids\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">privacy concerns<\/a> raised during the ID transitions were justified. Automated emails from sites like <a title=\"Facebook\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/t\/facebook-tags\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> and LinkedIn could spell trouble for previous owners of that ID as the new owners can view sensitive information.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-51585\" title=\"not my email\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/09\/not-my-email.png\" alt=\"not my email\" width=\"403\" height=\"221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/09\/not-my-email.png 403w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2013\/09\/not-my-email-256x140.png 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new &#8220;Not My Email&#8221; button will allow honest Yahoo! Mail users to report when they get an email that is intended for someone else. Yahoo! has apparently implemented a &#8220;email bounce method,&#8221; which tells sites that the email was no longer valid. Some sites and services have ignored this method and are continuing to deliver email to recycled Yahoo! email addresses.<\/p>\n<p>Yahoo! claims that only a small percentage of users are experiencing email sent to the wrong address but the company is taking the issue seriously and investigating further.
