If you&#8217;re running <a title=\"Windows 8 essential guide\" href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/essential-guide-to-windows-8\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows 8<\/a> already, Windows 8.1 will be a free update, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store on October 17th.<\/p>\n<p>Those looking for upgrade pricing will be disappointed as Windows 8.1 will only be sold as a full version. This means you can use it to upgrade from Windows 7 or do a clean installation on your machine.
