This made me wonder: are there any games similar to Candy Crush Saga that could eliminate some of these issues? It turns out, there are quite\u00a0a few.<\/p>\n<h3>Bejeweled&#8230;where it all started<\/h3>\n<p>Candy Crush Saga&#8217;s mechanics are\u00a0pretty much a carbon copy of <strong>Bejeweled <\/strong>(PopCap Games, 2001), a game that began in flash format and has, over the years, ended up with versions and sequels for all platforms.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to play on your computer, we recommend the most recent installment, <strong>Bejeweled 3<\/strong> for <a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-3.en.softonic.com\/\">Windows<\/a> or &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-3.en.softonic.com\/mac\">Mac<\/a>, as well as well as the\u00a0<a title=\"Bejewled\" href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">original<\/a>,\u00a0the<a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-blitz.en.softonic.com\/\">Blitz<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-twist.en.softonic.com\/\">Twist <\/a> versions. The gameplay is the same in all; the only things that differs are the game modes and the technical specs.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d prefer to play on your mobile, there are versions for almost every device, from the original <a title=\"Bejeweled for Blackberry\" href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled.en.softonic.com\/blackberry\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bejeweled for Blackberry<\/a>, to <a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-3.en.softonic.com\/symbian\">Bejeweled 3 for\u00a0Symbian<\/a>, as well as <strong>Blitz versions<\/strong> for <a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-blitz.en.softonic.com\/iphone\">iPhone <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-blitz.en.softonic.com\/android\">Android<\/a>,\u00a0or <a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-live.en.softonic.com\/windows-phone-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LIVE<\/a> for your Windows Phone.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to download anything, stick with &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/bejeweled-2.en.softonic.com\/web-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bejeweled 2<\/a> or <a title=\"Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bejeweledblitz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blitz<\/a> for your browser, which is also available on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Bejeweled\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/bejeweled-568x319.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"568\" height=\"319\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>The daddy of Candy Crush Saga has dozens of versions and <\/em><em>spin-offs<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>The charm of &#8220;kawaii&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>If there&#8217;s anyone who knows how to make <strong>pretty and colorful<\/strong> games, it&#8217;s\u00a0the Japanese. <strong>LINE Pop<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/line-pop-.en.softonic.com\/android\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Android<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/line-pop.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iOS<\/a>), for example, is a Bejeweled clone from Naver, the company responsible for the messaging service <a href=\"http:\/\/line.en.softonic.com\/\">LINE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>LINE Pop\u00a0(available on <a href=\"http:\/\/line.en.softonic.com\/android\/download\">Android <\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/line.en.softonic.com\/iphone\/download\">iPhone<\/a>) has the gameplay we&#8217;re familiar with,\u00a0but it&#8217;s crammed full of\u00a0charismatic characters we know from the LINE\u00a0stickers; instead of candy or jewels, you have to line up Brown, Cony, Moon and\u00a0Sally to make them disappear.<\/p>\n<p>The downside of LINE Pop is that <strong>you have to install LINE to play, <\/strong>as well as\u00a0staying connected to the internet. And yes, the &#8220;lives&#8221; system is alive and kicking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"LINE Pop\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/LINE-Pop-568x428.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>LINE Pop&#8230;even more adorable than\u00a0Candy Crush Saga?<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Puzzles and more<\/h3>\n<p>Some games use puzzles to give you an excuse to play more. This is the case with the <strong>Puzzle Quest<\/strong> series, where you collect pieces to\u00a0defeat enemies.<\/p>\n<p>Puzzle Quest, <strong>a mix of a puzzle and an RPG, <\/strong>has had two installments in the main series (<a href=\"http:\/\/puzzle-quest-challenge-of-the-warlords.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">download the first for Windows<\/a>), as well as a spin-off with a\u00a0galactic theme (also available on <a href=\"http:\/\/puzzle-quest-galactrix.en.softonic.com\/download\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Puzzle Quest\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/PuzzleQuest2-568x355.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"568\" height=\"355\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Puzzle Quest has become another classic <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Another very similar game that&#8217;s just made it across the pond is called <strong>Puzzle &amp; Dragons<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/puzzle-and-dragons.en.softonic.com\/android\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Android<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/puzzle-dragons.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iOS<\/a>), a game whose potential success\u00a0<a title=\"Puzzle &amp; Dragons: The next Candy Crush Saga?\" href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/puzzle-dragons-the-next-candy-crush-saga\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">we&#8217;ve already speculated about<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Same, but different<\/h3>\n<p>There are also games out there which aren&#8217;t complete clones of Candy Crush Saga, meaning there&#8217;s more to the game than just joining three or more pieces of the same color to clear the board. These games have <strong>features in common<\/strong> that will keep you equally as occupied!<\/p>\n<p>One type of similar game requires you to remove <em>areas<\/em> of the same color as quickly as possible.
