Did you spend a ton of money on games in 2013? Well, don’t think that you’ll\u00a0be\u00a0saving\u00a0any cash in 2014, as this year will be packed full of\u00a0great games.<\/p>\n

2013 has been a year full of milestones in the history of video games<\/strong>: the release of GTA V<\/a>, the launch of the new\u00a0PS4<\/a> and Xbox One consoles, as well as a multitude of\u00a0great series with new titles: FIFA 14<\/a>, NBA 2K14, and\u00a0Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag<\/a>. The stakes are high enough for us to ask, can 2014 really match such a magical gaming year?<\/p>\n

If we look at confirmed 2014 releases, we can respond with a resounding yes<\/strong>:\u00a0this year will be a spectacular year for the gaming industry<\/strong>. There’ll be a ton of games that are sure to leave us speechless and, although it’s possible that there are some essential items missing from this list, for now, we’ll talk about what’s already been confirmed for theear.<\/p>\n

The Sims 4: the fourth generation of a successful run<\/h3>\n

The fourth generation of the best-selling simulator <\/strong>of all time returns this year, although we still have no definite release date.<\/p>\n

This time, the focus will be on making the Sims unique, unpredictable, with light\u00a0and shadows, hobbies and talents- it’ll be the closest to human form the Sims have ever come.<\/p>\n

Our only hope is that this time, there won’t be as many expansions.<\/p>\n

The Elder Scrolls Online: The future king of the MMO?<\/h3>\n

This year, Skyrim will have a “sequel”, and it’s not The Elder Scrolls VI, but the first installment of the legendary online RPG<\/strong> saga\u00a0from Bethesda.<\/p>\n

Although criticized by many, TES Online aims to carve a niche in the MMO market, an old-school model that has many people upset – just ask\u00a0WoW, which has lost millions of users<\/strong> in recent months.<\/p>\n

WoW\u00a0Warlords of Draenor: Blizzard does not give in<\/h3>\n

With the aim of winning back the faithful,\u00a0World of Warcraft will launch a new extension in 2014; additional content will mean a major change in the series, something not seen since Cataclysm.<\/p>\n

With Warlords of Draenor, we travel into the past to a land we already know, but with a totally new design. But Draenor isn’t the only one\u00a0with a facelift: Blizzard will finally upgrade the graphics of the game<\/strong> to make the game an experience worthy of\u00a02014.<\/p>\n

GTA V: 2014 will also be its year<\/h3>\n

Grand Theft Auto V is possibly THE LAUNCH (yes, I did mean to capitalize)\u00a0of 2013. Does that mean that 2014 won’t be its year too? \u00a0Don’t count on it.<\/p>\n

Rockstar announced that its online mode will have a lot of content<\/a>.\u00a0We’ve already previewed DLC for story mode and it’s more likely that sooner or later the game will have a PC version<\/strong>, which many fans of the franchise have been\u00a0crying out for.<\/p>\n

Watch Dogs: genuine rival to GTA V?<\/h3>\n

The hype surrounding the new offering from Ubisoft is huge and it’s no wonder, since this open world sci-fi adventure is looking\u00a0better and better. This game doesn’t necessarily seem as if it’s from\u00a0Rockstar, but if we make this comparison, it’s because of the buzz that it’s\u00a0generating<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Watch Dogs<\/a> won’t be the only original game in its plan, but it will finally demonstrate the power of the new generation of consoles (and more powerful PCs)<\/strong>, which for now, we can only guess at.<\/p>\n

Thief: The Return of the Master<\/h3>\n

Thief is a beloved saga for players who’ve been around the block a few times. Its stealth gameplay influenced many subsequent titles such as the multi-million dollar saga\u00a0Assassin’s Creed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Will a remake of a game whose first installment is 16 years old really work? Those who have already seen it in action say\u00a0yes; it’s spectacular and will perhaps redefine the basis for third person action games.<\/p>\n

Dark Souls 2: Back into Hell<\/h3>\n

Dark Souls is arguably one of the toughest games of its generation, but it’s unfair if this is the only thing it’ll be remembered for. It’s also a\u00a0unique gameplay experience<\/strong> that brings a lot of motivation for advanced players. That’s why having a second installment can only be good news.<\/p>\n

Dark Souls 2<\/a> is one of the games of the year because it will mean the final hurrah of a saga that began discreetly with Demon Souls<\/strong> but deservedly has made an important impact in the history of role play.<\/p>\n

The Lego Movie Video game: A dose of good cheer<\/h3>\n

A new Lego game is always an event for fans of adventure games and platforms. Traveller’s Tales found a great formula<\/strong> which ensures that its next game, based on a movie that’s coming out soon, will improve it even more.<\/p>\n

Humor that everyone loves, charismatic characters, settings which are (almost) fully destructible and generally good vibes is what awaits us in a game that has the added bonusa of working on almost all modern computers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Titanfall: Explosives are back in fashion<\/h3>\n

An action game with giant robots?<\/strong> No, it’s not the new installment of Transformers, but Titanfall, the new offering for Xbox One and Windows.<\/p>\n

The concept isn’t exactly original, but it has been a little exploited recently. This, together with mind-blowing graphics and really fun gameplay, makes\u00a0it one of the most enticing bets of the season, especially for all those who don’t really care about the story and want to throw themselves into huge battles and relentless action<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Titanfall\"<\/p>\n

The moment arrives for PS4 and Xbox One<\/h3>\n

The new consoles have already arrived, and, although no one doubts their potential, the games we’ve seen so far for them are\u00a0interesting, but not revolutionary<\/strong>. This, however, is typical of new consoles: the best games of a generation don’t usually arrive at the very beginning.<\/p>\n

The big moment for PS4 and Xbox One does seem close, as there are many next-gen exclusives that will launch\u00a0in a few months: Destiny, Drive Club, Infamous: Second Son, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, <\/strong>and lots more that have yet to be\u00a0announced.<\/p>\n
