Using search parameters, you can restrict your search to Google search results so that you can get targeted results and find music even more easily.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spotify now has more than 24 million users, making it one of the most popular online music streaming services. The software is available as a <a title=\"Download the Sptoify web app\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify.en.softonic.com\/web-apps\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">browser app<\/a>, as well as for <a title=\"Download Spotify for Windows\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Spotify for Mac\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify-mac.en.softonic.com\/mac\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mac<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/spotify-mobile.en.softonic.com\/android\">Android<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Spotify for iPhone\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify-mobile-iphone.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iOS<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Spotify for Blackberry\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify-mobile.en.softonic.com\/blackberry\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blackberry<\/a>, and <a title=\"Download Spotify for Symbian\" href=\"http:\/\/spotify.en.softonic.com\/symbian\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Symbian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Millions of songs and a sophisticated interface make\u00a0for hassle-free music streaming, but some tracks or albums can only be found through elaborate clicking. With some simple filters in the search bar, you&#8217;ll be able to find exactly what you&#8217;re looking for, quickly and easily.<\/p>\n<h3>To use the advanced search<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Place the desired search filter for artist or genre in front of your search term. For\u00a0search filters, see the next paragraph. If the search term has multiple words, put the words in quotation marks.<\/li>\n<li>Combine multiple keywords with the parameters &#8216;AND&#8217;, &#8216;OR&#8217; and &#8216;NOT&#8217;. &#8216;AND&#8217; combines several search parameters, OR is for when at least one of the filters applies, and NOT excludes specific results from the search.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Spotify advanced search\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2013\/06\/spotify-search-field.jpg\" alt=\"Spotify advanced search\" width=\"515\" height=\"144\" \/><\/h2>\n<h3>All Filters for Spotify<\/h3>\n<p><strong>artist:<\/strong> searches only in artist names. All hits from albums or songs will be ignored. Example: <strong>artist:Metallica<\/strong> or <strong>artist:&#8221;Michael Jackson&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>track:<\/strong> searches only for specific tracks. All hits from albums or artists are ignored. Examples: <strong>track:firestarter or track:&#8221;yellow submarine&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>album: <\/strong>searches only for albums. All hits from tracks\u00a0or artists are ignored. Examples: <strong>album: paradise<\/strong> or <strong>album:&#8221;born to die&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>year:<\/strong> searches by release years or periods. All other hits will be ignored. Examples: <strong>year:2000<\/strong> or <strong>year:2010- 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>genre:<\/strong> limits the results to the chosen genre. Example: <strong>genre:Blues<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>label:<\/strong> finds music specifically from a particular label. Example: <strong>label:virgin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>tag:new <\/strong>search specifically\u00a0looks for the latest album from an artist. The filter must be combined with another parameter. Example: <strong>artist:&#8221;stevie wonder&#8221; tag:new<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>upc: <\/strong>find albums on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Universal_product_code\">Universal Product Codes<\/a>. Example:<strong> upc:634904012922<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>isrc: <\/strong>searches for specific tracks with the help of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/International_Standard_Recording_Code\">International Standard Recording Codes<\/a>, including special tracks with many different recordings directly. Example: <strong>isrc:GBBKS9900090<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>When does\u00a0searching\u00a0with filters make sense?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Example 1: Your search didn&#8217;t match anything in the catalogue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are looking for the little-known reggae band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nW4w9exqC-g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gloria All Stars<\/a>. Spotify lets you input Gloria All Stars but nothing useful comes up. Enter <strong>track:&#8221;Nothing Else Matters&#8221; NOT artist:Metallica<\/strong>, and sort by popularity. A search for <strong>genre:soca<\/strong> will help.
