The next major update to the operating system will hopefully help users forget the painful release of <a title=\"Download Windows 8\" href=\"http:\/\/windows-8.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows 8<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thurrot reports that Microsoft is continuing the planned update for Windows 8.1, likely to appear around the same time as the conference. According to sources, we&#8217;ll get the first details about the mysterious <a title=\"Rumor: Windows project 'Threshold' coming in 2015\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/rumor-windows-project-threshold-coming-in-2015\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows Threshold<\/a> <strong><\/strong> at the BUILD conference, along with news about <strong>Windows Phone<\/strong> and <strong>Xbox<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has yet to begin developing Windows 9, but sources in the company say that the operating system must be &#8220;everything that Windows 8 is not&#8221;. The relative failure of Windows 8 has led Microsoft to acknowledge its mistakes and promise to make something more user-friendly with Windows 9.
