Microsoft has updated its Office Web Apps<\/a> with a slightly revised, flatter design. The redesign falls in line with the company’s apps for Windows 8.1<\/a> and Windows Phone<\/a> 8 apps.<\/p>\n

OneNote<\/a> gets an easier to use interface with two columns to help users navigate between sections of notebooks. The app also features the redesigned ribbon menu with a flatter design, though the buttons for File, Home, Insert, View, etc remain the same.<\/p>\n

The Word<\/a> Web App gets Footnotes and Endnotes, which function like they do in the Word desktop app. Shapes, Texboxes, and WordArt are all coming to the Word Web App as well.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Microsoft has added a new help menu called “Tell me what you want to do,” which is located inside the search menu. Users can now quickly search for tutorials and tips to understand how to use each feature in the Office Web Apps suite.<\/p>\n

The Office Web App update is rolling out in phases so expect to see the new design and features “over the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n
