A video appeared on Twitter apparently showing Cortana<\/a>, Microsoft’s rumored voice assistant app. Cortana is Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s Siri<\/a>, the ‘intelligent personal assistant’ in iOS.<\/p>\n

In the short video you can see Cortana being used to plan a travel route, taking into account the method of transport.. You can also see the Cortana start guide, visible in the notification bar near the battery icon. Unfortunately the video isn’t great quality, as is often the case with leaks, and the music in the background doesn’t make it any easier to work out what’s going on. Watch for yourself here.<\/p>\n

We first wrote about Microsoft’s plan to create a Siri-like personal assistant in September. Cortana is the artificial intelligence character in the iconic Xbox series Halo, although the Windows version of Cortana looks a lot less sci-fi than the original. We expect to find out more about Cortana at the Microsoft Build Conference in April, where we should also hear more about the Window 8.1 2014 update<\/strong> and Windows 9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
