Its simplicity was stark contrast to the crazy world of <strong>MySpace<\/strong>, and it quickly gained popularity outside its Harvard origins.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/the-facebook-revolution\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dethroning MySpace<\/a> to the explosion of Facebook games like <a href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/farmville-versus-games\">FarmVille<\/a>, the introduction of the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/facebook-timeline-now-available-to-all-users\">Timeline<\/a>, and the apparently bottomless well of <a href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/look-what-this-girl-wore-facebook-viral-scam-reappears-after-2-years\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scams<\/a> that circulate around the social network, Facebook has rarely been out of the news. <a href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/5-reasons-why-i-deleted-my-facebook-profile\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">We&#8217;ve left<\/a>, and come back.
