We previously heard rumors that the update to Windows 8.1 would drop some time in March before Microsoft&#8217;s Build Developer Conference, which takes place from April 2nd to the 4th. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/windows-8-1-update-1-now-looking-like-april-7000026009\/\">Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet<\/a> now has news from two of her sources that the release date of Windows 8.1 Update 1 will be pushed back until after build on April 8th, during Microsoft&#8217;s &#8220;Spring&#8221; update cycle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-59706 aligncenter\" title=\"Windows 8.1 leak with power button\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/Windows-8.1-leak-with-power-button-568x426.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"568\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/Windows-8.1-leak-with-power-button-568x426.jpg 568w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/Windows-8.1-leak-with-power-button-256x192.jpg 256w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/Windows-8.1-leak-with-power-button.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Windows 8.1 Update 1 will concentrate on making Windows 8.1 easier to use for traditional mouse and keyboard users. The operating system will be set to boot to the traditional Windows desktop instead of Microsoft&#8217;s tile interface, which was designed for touchscreens. The update will also include the ability to pin &#8220;Metro&#8221; apps to the taskbar, making them easily accessible instead of hidden away in the tile interface.
