Gone is the timeline that we&#8217;re all familiar with, replaced by a <a title=\"Facebook tag\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/t\/facebook-tags\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a>-like profile page.<\/p>\n<p>While Twitter already supports custom header images, the header has been given more visual focus like Facebook&#8217;s Cover Photos. A larger profile picture has been put to the top left, exactly where Facebook features its users&#8217; profile pictures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-60365 aligncenter\" title=\"Mashable - Twitter redesign\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/TwitterLayout1-549x568.jpg\" alt=\"Mashable - Twitter redesign\" width=\"549\" height=\"568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/TwitterLayout1-549x568.jpg 549w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/TwitterLayout1-247x256.jpg 247w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/TwitterLayout1.jpg 911w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But the most striking difference is the absence of the chronological timeline, replaced with a <a title=\"Pinterest\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pinterest<\/a> and <a title=\"Google+\" href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google+<\/a> card-based interface. Each tweet is put into its own &#8220;card&#8221; and is resized dynamically. Tweets with photos and videos are displayed more prominently, with full sized photos appearing in the redesigned timeline. Each card features quick options to reply, retweet, favorite, or delete.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not surprising that Twitter is trying radical things to bring new users to its social network. Twitter released its <a title=\"Minyanville: Twitter has a tough act to follow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/tech\/2014\/02\/11\/twitter-quarterly-results-social-media\/5392761\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quarterly results last week<\/a>, which showed a paltry 3.8% increase in the number of users of the service.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter is known to <a title=\"Is Twitter experimenting with personalized news stories?\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/is-twitter-experimenting-with-personalized-news-stories\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">test new layouts\u00a0and features<\/a> by introducing them to random users so there&#8217;s no confirmation if this redesign is finalized.
