The app just hangs at the \u201cconnecting\u201d alert.<\/p>\n<p>Although Facebook\u2019s <a title=\"Facebook to acquire WhatsApp for $16 billion\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/facebook-buys-whatsapp-for-16-billion\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$16 billion  purchase of WhatsApp<\/a> is still pending, it hasn&#8217;t stopped users from blaming the <a title=\"social network tag\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/t\/social-networks-categories\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social network<\/a> for the outage.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a title=\"Telegram's subscriptions jump 300% on WhatsApp purchase\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/telegrams-subscriptions-jump-300-on-whatsapp-purchase\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Telegram<\/a>, the popular alternative to WhatsApp, has been receiving 100 new registrations every second, according to their Twitter account. Telegram is having server issues itself as tons of users flood to register for the service.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p>This is crazy.
