WhatsApp costs $0.99 per year but users have the option of paying for 3 and 5 years too. You&#8217;ll see an option for <em>Pay for (your friend&#8217;s name). <\/em>Tapping on it will take you to a page where you can purchase 1, 3, or 5 years of WhatsApp service for your friend. This ability is only available to Android users at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>The update also brings more control over who can see your last log in, profile picture, and status.
