WhatsApp for iOS<\/a> allows you to send pictures, videos, contacts and geographic location…but not music. Fortunately, \u00a0sending an MP3 via WhatsApp for iPhone\u00a0is still possible<\/strong>.\u00a0All you need is the help of a free app that offers an Open With <\/em>option.\u00a0There are a few of these, but\u00a0iZip<\/strong> seems to be the most suitable for our purpose.<\/p>\n

Here, I’ll take you through how to send an audio file with WhatsApp for iPhone.<\/p>\n

How to send audio files using iZip<\/h3>\n

1.<\/strong> Install\u00a0iZip<\/a> on your iPhone. Open the program.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Select\u00a0Music Library.<\/em><\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Open a folder (e.g.\u00a0Albums<\/em>).<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Tap\u00a0Select<\/em> <\/strong>in the top right of the screen and\u00a0choose the song<\/strong> you want to send with WhatsApp.\u00a0At this point,\u00a0Select<\/em> will be replaced by\u00a0Done<\/em>.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Tap the Zi<\/strong><\/em>p<\/em> <\/strong>button at the bottom center of the interface.\u00a0The app will compress the file<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> It\u00a0will open WhatsApp\u00a0automatically<\/strong>.\u00a0Select the user you want to send the MP3 to, and when it asks you to\u00a0Send to [contact name],<\/em> click on\u00a0Yes<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At this point, the file will load and send<\/strong>.\u00a0When the recipient receives it, you can listen to it by tapping\u00a0the Play<\/em> icon next to the music file.<\/p>\n

Beware of copyright<\/h3>\n

This method lets iPhone users exchange music via WhatsApp, even if the procedure is a bit more complicated than for Android users.Remember, however, that sharing music files\u00a0protected by copyright laws<\/strong> is illegal, so only send audio or music that can be freely shared.<\/p>\n

One last tip: if you want to share a new song with a friend, instead of sending the file, you can share it with them<\/strong> via\u00a0Spotify<\/a>.\u00a0To do so, just find the song you like, tap the menu with the three dots next to it, and select WhatsApp.<\/p>\n
