You\u00a0can now control the <strong>intensity of each filter<\/strong>, as well as the brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth, and more.<\/p>\n<p>You can even adjust the <strong>strength of a filter<\/strong>, which has been a long requested feature. Tapping on a filter brings up a slider to adjust the filter. You can change the look of the filter further by playing with contrast, brightness, and saturation.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-67750\" title=\"VSCO Cam\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/VSCO-Cam-268x440.png\" alt=\"VSCO Cam\" width=\"268\" height=\"440\" \/><br \/>\nBefore today&#8217;s update, Instagram provided basic editing features like crop, straighten, frames, and simulated &#8220;<a title=\"HDR Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/High-dynamic-range_imaging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HDR<\/a>.&#8221; More seasoned photographers will enjoy the new editing features but I expect most people will stick to the default filters.<\/p>\n<p>The update reminds me of <strong>VSCO Cam<\/strong>, another popular photography app for <a title=\"VSCO Cam for Android\" href=\"http:\/\/vsco-cam.en.softonic.com\/android\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Android<\/a> and <a title=\"VSCO Cam for iOS\" href=\"http:\/\/vsco-cam.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iOS<\/a>. Even after the update, Instagram falls behind VSCO in editing features. Still, Instagram has more users and VSCO users often post to Instagram using the hashtag <a title=\"VSCO Cam Instagram\" href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/vsco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#VSCOcam<\/a>. Facebook undoubtedly took notice and has taken some of VSCO Cam&#8217;s best features.<\/p>\n<p>The update will be <strong>rolling out today<\/strong> for Android and iOS.
