The conference will show off Google&#8217;s <strong>upcoming products<\/strong> and the tools developers need to create apps for its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Google I\/O should be exciting with Google&#8217;s  announcement of <a title=\"Android Wear beats Apple iWatch out the door\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/android-wear-smartwatch\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Android Wear<\/a>, the company&#8217;s smartwatch platform.<\/p>\n<p>Google will have a ton of announcements tomorrow but here are the most important ones to look out for.<\/p>\n<h3>Android Wear<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-68530\" title=\"Android Wear\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-568x319.jpg\" alt=\"Android Wear\" width=\"568\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-568x319.jpg 568w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-256x144.jpg 256w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-800x450.jpg 800w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-664x374.jpg 664w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear-238x134.jpg 238w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/Android-Wear.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Google announced Android Wear, it&#8217;s smartwatch platform, back in March of this year. <strong>Motorola<\/strong> and <strong>LG<\/strong> confirmed they will be making Android smartwatches and it&#8217;s likely Google will show them off during Google I\/O.<\/p>\n<p>Android Wear is a completely different take on wearable technology than <a title=\"Google Glass news\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/b\/google-glass\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Glass<\/a>, which hasn&#8217;t really taken off. While Glass raised privacy concerns, Wear is more innocuous. We&#8217;ve seen some screenshots of what the Wear interface will be like but we haven&#8217;t seen them being used in a live demo. Google has worked hard to <strong>separate its apps<\/strong> from the operating system, allowing more users to get the latest features <strong>without waiting for a system update<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With the introduction of <a title=\"What is Google Play Services?\" href=\"http:\/\/features.en.softonic.com\/what-is-google-play-services\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Play Services<\/a>, Google can now <strong>push updates<\/strong> to phones without waiting for mobile carriers to roll out operating system updates. However, Google doesn&#8217;t have a fitness hub like Apple&#8217;s <a title=\"Everything you need to know about iOS 8\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-ios-8\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Health<\/a> app. That&#8217;s where <strong>Google Play Fitness<\/strong> comes in.<\/p>\n<p>The app will allow developers to interface with, creating a <strong>hub for fitness data<\/strong>. While Chromecast is great for using quickly <strong>beaming content<\/strong> to your TV, it doesn&#8217;t have an interface for controlling media on the TV. Android TV will offer a <strong>more complete experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Android TV will be similar to Apple TV and other set-top boxes, integrating <strong>apps<\/strong> and <strong>games<\/strong>. This platform will also allow Google to sell you more content via its <a title=\"Google Play Store\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Play Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Google gave TV a shot with <a title=\"Google TV\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google TV<\/a>, but the product flopped because it was too complicated, expensive, and failed to attract developers. Android in the car will take on Apple&#8217;s <a title=\"iOS coming to cars with CarPlay in 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/ios-coming-to-cars-with-carplay-in-2014\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CarPlay<\/a> for controlling your car&#8217;s features. With its purchase of <a title=\"Forbes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/parmyolson\/2014\/06\/24\/google-nest-smart-home-internet-of-things\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nest<\/a> and <a title=\"The Verge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2014\/5\/26\/5753026\/google-and-nest-considering-home-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dropcam<\/a>, Google may finally be ready to take <strong>home automation<\/strong> seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Nest allows users to control and monitor their home&#8217;s heating and cooling, while Dropcam offers a subscription based <strong>video security<\/strong> service. You can now get <a title=\"Google Glass frames\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/glass\/help\/frames\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prescription<\/a> and <a title=\"Google Glass Frames By Diane Von Furstenberg Now On Sale In The U.S.\" href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2014\/06\/23\/google-glass-frames-by-diane-von-furstenberg-now-on-sale-in-the-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">designer frames<\/a> but the hardware itself has only seen one reiteration in over two years. (<strong>UPDATE<\/strong>: Google announced a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2014\/6\/24\/5838642\/google-refreshes-glass-hardware-but-current-owners-wont-get-upgraded\">refreshed version<\/a> of Glass today, making it the second hardware revision in two years.)<\/p>\n<p>Google made Glass <a title=\"Google Glass now on sale to all in US, but still in beta\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2014\/5\/13\/5715054\/anyone-in-the-us-can-now-buy-google-glass\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">available for everyone<\/a> in the US to buy, but $1,500 is tough to swallow for an <strong>experimental product<\/strong>. Now with Android Wear on the horizon, is there a need for Glass? Google&#8217;s <strong>self-driving cars<\/strong> have been in development for many years so we should be seeing a consumer version soon. Maybe not at Google I\/O but soon.<\/p>\n<p>Google also purchased the <strong>robotics<\/strong> company, Boston Dynamics, but we have no idea what it&#8217;s going to do with it. I don&#8217;t expect Google to announce any crazy robots tomorrow but we should be seeing more more wacky experiments from Google in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Google loves to surprise us (see Google I\/O 2012&#8217;s <a title=\"Mashable\" href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2012\/06\/27\/project-glass-skydive-demo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sky divers<\/a>) and the company may have some tricks up its sleeve for tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Google I\/O 2014 begins tomorrow, <strong>June 25th at 9AM PDT<\/strong>.
