Traditional collages are usually created with paper, scissors and glue. But there&#8217;s also an easy way to create them with Photoshop. Follow these steps and you&#8217;ll learn how.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> First of all, you need to download these <a href=\"http:\/\/fc15.deviantart.com\/fs15\/f\/2007\/034\/e\/3\/Large_polaroid_brushes_by_Sanami276.zip\">two<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/fc03.deviantart.com\/fs10\/f\/2006\/106\/a\/9\/sanami276_polaroids02.zip\">sets<\/a> of Photoshop Polaroid-style brushes and unzip the ABR files in <em>Program Files\\Adobe\\Adobe Photoshop CS2\\Presets\\Brushes<\/em>. They should appear like this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage01.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Open Photoshop and load the two brush sets you just unzipped. Select the <strong>Brush <\/strong>tool, click on the small arrow in the brush preset picker window and click on Load Brushes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage02.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>3.<\/strong> Now you can start creating the collage. Open a white background document, select any of the Polaroid brushes and click on it. You&#8217;ll get an empty Polaroid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage02b.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Open the first image you want to use in the collage, copy it with <strong>Ctrl+C<\/strong> and paste it on the Polaroid document with <strong>Ctrl+V<\/strong>. Now use the Transform tool (<strong>Ctrl+T<\/strong>) to adapt it to the frame.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage03.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Flatten the document&#8217;s layers (<em>Layer &gt; Flatten image<\/em>) and then use the Magic Wand to select the white background. Go to <em>Select &gt; Inverse<\/em> so that the Polaroid is selected \u2013 and not the background.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage04.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> Paste this Polaroid on the actual background you&#8217;ll use to create your collage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-images.sftcdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2008\/11\/collage04b.png\" alt=\"Create a Polaroid collage in Photoshop\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Repeat the whole process from step 3 to 6, trying to use different frames each time and placing them on the background in a nice layout. Use one layer per Polaroid to make the collage easier to manage.
