You can now chat with your friends on your iPad with Facebook Messenger<\/a>. While the Facebook app<\/a> for iPad already has Messenger built in, this dedicated app gives a better chat experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Your ongoing conversations are located in the left column with your open chat on the right. There’s also a “Groups” tab where you can easily access your group conversations.<\/p>\n

You can attach images, share your location, record your voice, and send stickers. There’s even an option to call a friend<\/a> over the internet if he or she is on Facebook Messenger.<\/p>\n

While Facebook Messenger for iPad is a better chat experience, chatting inside the Facebook app allows you to multitask<\/strong> using chat heads. Chat heads are small floating notifications, letting you minimize a chat to browse Facebook. Unfortunately chat heads don’t work outside the Facebook app on iOS.<\/p>\n

Facebook Messenger for iPad is also missing a few features of its iPhone version<\/a>. There’s no tap-and-hold video recording<\/a> nor is there a split-screen selfie mode.<\/p>\n
