Code named &#8220;Threshold,&#8221; Windows 9 will focus on <strong>improving features for desktop<\/strong> users with a redesigned <a title=\"Leaked 'Windows 9' screenshots show redesigned Start Menu\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/leaked-windows-9-threshold-screenshots-start-menu\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Start Menu<\/a> and modified <a title=\"Rumor: Microsoft to remove Charms bar in next version of Windows\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/rumor-microsoft-to-axe-charms-bar-in-windows-9\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charms Bar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report also reveals Microsoft will likely ship Windows 9 to developers on the same day or shortly afterward. This news follows a report from <em>ZDNet<\/em> that says Microsoft is expected to release Windows 9 <a title=\"ZDNet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/microsoft-to-deliver-windows-threshold-tech-preview-around-late-september-7000032668\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">late September<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I reached out to Microsoft for comment about the event and received the following response:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Thanks again for your phone call. I have connected with my colleagues, and we have nothing to share about Windows 9 at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience here.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From what I&#8217;ve seen, Microsoft is about ready to launch Windows 9 with minor usability updates even though the company remains tight-lipped about it.
