Android users have had this ability since <a title=\"Google Docs and Sheets for Android receive new design, native Office file support\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/google-docs-sheets-android-native-office-support-update\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">early July<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Before today&#8217;s update, users had to deal with converting Office files before being able to edit them with Google&#8217;s productivity suite. Now users don&#8217;t have to worry about using Microsoft&#8217;s popular file formats.<\/p>\n<p>Google also launched its <strong>Slides app<\/strong>, which competes with <a title=\"Microsoft PowerPoint for iPad\" href=\"http:\/\/microsoft-powerpoint-for-ipad.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft PowerPoint<\/a>.
