iOS 8 is out today and a lot has changed<\/a>. App developers can now create extensions, which allows apps to talk to each other. Facebook is implementing its own extension, which allows you to quickly share to Facebook<\/strong> from within any app. Tapping the share button in any app now shows an option to share using Facebook.<\/p>\n

In addition to extensions, Facebook is also getting more location sharing options<\/strong>. Previously, iOS only allowed you to decide to turn off or on location. In iOS 8, users now have the option to share location Always<\/strong>, While Using the App<\/strong> or Never<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Turning location sharing on Always<\/em> allows Facebook to track your location at all times for its Nearby Friends<\/a> feature. Those who want to broadcast their location to friends will want to enable this setting.<\/p>\n

Most users will want to keep location sharing limited to While Using the App<\/em>. This allows Facebook to check you into places as well as offer up close by things to do and see. This location information is shared with both Facebook Messenger<\/a> and Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Those who don\u2019t want to share any location data can select Never<\/em>. You can go one step further and disable Location Services<\/strong> altogether in the settings.<\/p>\n

Facebook promises to redesign its iOS 8 app \u201cover the coming weeks\u201d for the bigger screen sizes of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.<\/p>\n
