Dropbox’s Mailbox app for Mac launched in private beta<\/a> back in August, which meant only users with invites were allows to try it out. Today, Dropbox made the app available to everyone<\/strong> to try.<\/p>\n

So what is Mailbox? Think of it as a simplified version of Gmail that helps you clean out your inbox and get things done. Mailbox supports gestures<\/strong>, which lets you quickly delete, archive, add to a list or set a reminder for messages with just a swipe left or right on your trackpad.<\/p>\n

The most useful part of Mailbox are its reminders, which lets you snooze emails for later<\/strong>. You can specify a time for Mailbox to bring the app back up to the top of your inbox. Not every email needs to be responded to immediately and Mailbox does a good job of de-cluttering your inbox.<\/p>\n

Gmail is still king when it comes to the sheer number of features. You’ll be giving up your beloved labels and filters with Mailbox but it may be worth it just for the email snoozing feature. Mailbox also has its own List feature, which are basically folders for you to manage your mail. It’s not as powerful as labels but it makes things simpler.<\/p>\n

Mailbox is also available on Android<\/a> and iOS<\/a> so you’ll feel right at home if you’ve used those apps.<\/p>\n
